CGC Announces Mega In-House Private Signing with Scott Snyder, Greg Capullo, Jonathan Glapion, Tony Daniel, Charles Soule, Steve McNiven and Ryan Browne

Get ready for another star studded In-House Private Signing with comic book creators Scott Snyder, Greg Capullo, Jonathan Glapion, Tony Daniel, Charles Soule, Steve McNiven and Ryan Browne! These creators have contributed to some of the most famous titles from DC Comics in the past decade, as well as titles for other publishers like Marvel, Dark Horse and Image Comics. In addition to signatures, the creators will be offering Remarques and Sketches for purchase. See pricing details and examples below.

Scott Snyder is an award-winning writer who has written comics for both DC and Marvel, including Batman, Batman: Gates of Gotham, Detective Comics, The Last Knight on Earth, Dark Nights: Metal and Iron Man: Noir. His first creator-owned, ongoing series was American Vampire, which won the 2011 Eisner Award for Best New Series as well as the 2011 Harvey Award for Best New Series. Snyder later became the writer of both Batman and a new Swamp Thing ongoing series as part of The New 52, DC Comics’ company-wide relaunch of all of its titles. Snyder is currently working on the series We Have Demons and Night of the Ghoul for Dark Horse Comics.

Greg Capullo is a master comic artist and penciller who is best known for his work with Marvel, Image and DC Comics where he worked on multiple titles including Dark Knights: Metal, The Last Knight on Earth, X-Force and Spawn. He was recently the artist for the New York Times bestselling, highly acclaimed Batman series. Capullo is the creator of The Creech and co-created the smash-hit Image Comics’ series Reborn. He  has also created art for Blizzard Entertainment’s World of Warcraft, contributed character designs for the award-winning HBO animated Spawn series and created album artwork for multiple popular musical groups including Korn and Disturbed. It was recently announced at San Diego Comic Con that Capullo will be joining Todd McFarlene to create an all new Batman/Spawn crossover.

Jonathan Glapion is a comic book artist who has worked as a penciler, inker and colorist. He has provided interiors and covers for numerous titles including Batman, Dark Nights: Metal, Batgirl, Birds of Prey, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Teen Titan, King Spawn and Reborn among others. Glapion has received an Inkwell Award for his talent as well as a Harvey Award nomination.

Tony Daniel is a comic book writer and artist, known for his work on various books for DC Comics, including Teen Titans, Flash: The Fastest Man Alive, Superman/Wonder Woman and Batman. He made his professional comics debut on Comico’s The Elementals and went on to illustrate X-Force for Marvel Comics and Spawn: Bloodfeud for Image Comics. He was announced as the writer and artist of the relaunched Detective Comics and The Savage Hawkman series. Daniel then began illustrating the adventures of Superman in Action Comics and is currently working once again with Scott Snyder on the breakout comic book series Nocterra.

Charles Soule is an esteemed comic book writer and novelist. He is known for writing Daredevil, She-Hulk, Thunderbolts, Swamp Thing, Superman/Wonder Woman, Death of Wolverine and various Star Wars books and comic series from Del Rey Books and Marvel Comics. Soule has a number of creator-owned series like Curse Words (with Ryan Browne) and Undiscovered Country, which he co-wrote with Scott Snyder and Giuseppe Camuncoli. He is currently working on the breakout hit Eight Million Genies, along with Ryan Browne.

Steve McNiven is best known for his pencil and cover work for Marvel Comics. In the early 2000s, he was named one of Marvel’s “Young Guns,” as he was one of the publisher’s leading creative talents. Some of his most notable works include series like Marvel Knights 4, Ultimate Secret, New Avengers, Civil War, Old Man Logan, Guardians of the Galaxy and Death of Wolverine

Ryan Browne is a professional comicsbooksman from Chicago Illinois. He is WORLD famous for co-creating Eight Billion Genies (Image Comics) and Curse Words (also Image Comics) with Charles Soule. He is infamous for fully-creating God Hates Astronauts (again, Image Comics) for which he is currently on a worldwide apology tour. His resume says he's worked for every major comics company in some way shape or form. Now he's an Executive Producer on the Eight Billion Genies movie now in development at Amazon Studios.

For this exclusive event, ALL CGC members, including free CGC members, can submit books directly to CGC headquarters in Sarasota, Florida. CGC must receive all submissions for this event by Friday, November 18, 2022

If the Private Signing needs to be rescheduled, CGC will securely store all submissions in its vault until the event can be rescheduled. 

After the creator(s) signs the submitted books, CGC will grade and encapsulate them with an estimated turnaround time of six weeks. If CCS pressing is also requested, the turnaround time is estimated at eight weeks. After grading and encapsulation, the collectibles will be shipped back to their owners.

Submission Instructions 

For this CGC Private Signing event, you can ship submissions directly to CGC with a FREE membership. Paid memberships are also available and include additional benefits. For more information and to join, visit CGCcomics.com/join

To submit books for the signing: 

  • Log onto your account or sign up for an account HERE.
  • Click Submit in the CGC website navigation and select Submission Forms
  • Next to Comics / Magazines, select Online Form.
  • Select Comic or Magazine from the drop-down menu, then select the artist/option.
  • Under Services, select Grading and, if you would like it, Pressing. Then hit Next in the top right section of the form.
  • Enter the information requested for your comic, and make sure to check the box next to the artist under Private Signing Details.
  • On the next screen, you can add one of CGC’s custom Marvel labels to your submission for qualifying books.
  • Select Add to Cart, and then repeat if there are additional books in your submission. If there are no additional books in your submission, click on the cart icon and proceed to checkout.
  • Note: If you want to submit magazines, please group them together on their own private signing form separate from comic submissions. The same rule applies for any custom labels.   • Put ALL ungraded books in window bags or they will not be accepted. You can purchase window bags HERE.
  • Books that are already certified by CGC, including CGC Signature Series books, can be submitted for this event. CGC will remove a CGC-certified book from its holder for an additional $5 fee.
  • Carefully package books in a box for shipment. If you need a CGC shipping kit, they can be purchased HERE.
  • IMPORTANT: Please write the artists’ on all sides of the outside of the box. You must initial outside of the box or we will not be able to honor the submission for this signing. 
  • Books will be received into the CGC system when they arrive and will be safely stored by CGC until the event. (Please note: Payments are processed as they normally are at the time of the collectibles’ arrival at CGC.)
  • Once books are signed, they will start an expedited CGC grading process. 

PLEASE NOTE:

All submissions must be received by CGC no later than Friday, November 18, 2022, to qualify for this private signing event. No change requests will be accepted after Friday, November 18, 2022.

Membership credits cannot be applied to CGC Private Signings.

*No Multi-Sigs included with other signings.

**If you submit a CGC-graded collectible that needs to be removed from its original holder by CGC, the collectible will need to go through the certification and encapsulation process again, and there is no guarantee that it will receive the same grade.
