Posted on 3/23/2023
Spider-Man continues to web-up the market as a book with his first appearance, graded by Certified Guaranty Company® (CGC®), just sold for more than a quarter of a million dollars. The book was featured in ComicLink’s Winter Featured Auction, which was held March 1-8, 2023.
Surpassing the rest was an Amazing Fantasy #15 graded CGC 8.0 that realized $290,000. The book features the first appearance of Marvel Comics’ Spider-Man by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko in 1962. After the character’s immediate success in Amazing Fantasy #15, Marvel rushed Spider-Man into his own monthly series, and he has become one of the most recognizable superheroes of all time.
