CGC Announces Private Signing with International Comic Book Creators

CGC is excited to announce that we will be hosting an exclusive Private Signing with comic book creators Lucio Parrillo, Carla Cohen, Stephanie Hans, Lee Garbett, Si Spurrier, Javi Fernandez, Christian Ward, Federico Vicentini, Belén Ortega and John Giang! Combined, they have worked for numerous comic book publishers including DC Comics, Marvel, Image, BOOM! Studios and IDW Publishing among others. In addition to signing, Fernandez, Ward, Vicentini, Ortega and Giang will be offering Remarques for purchase. See pricing and details below.
Lucio Parrillo is an Italian artist best known for his work on Dungeons & Dragons comic covers as well as Magic: The Gathering cards. He also has worked on titles like Justice League, The Immortal Hulk, Venom, Something is Killing the Children, Vampirella, Red Sonja and Gargoyles. Parrillo has upcoming covers on the series Knight Terrors: Green Lantern and Vampirella/Dracula: Rage.

Carla Cohen is a French illustrator based in Italy. She is well known for her stunning covers on titles like Batman, Catwoman, Nice House on the Lake, Harley Quinn, Vampirella Strikes, Red Sonja and The Department of Truth. Cohen has upcoming covers on the series Victory and Shazam!.

Stephanie Hans is an award-nominated French comic book artist best known for her fantastic cover work for DC, Marvel and Image Comics. Some of her most notable work includes series like Batwoman, Lucifer, Ms. Marvel and Die. Hans has upcoming covers on the series Realm of X and Doctor Strange.

Lee Garbett is a British comic book artist best known for his work for DC Comics where he worked on series like Batman, Batgirl and The Outsiders. Garbett has also worked on Marvel titles such as Identity Wars, The Amazing Spider-Man and Loki: Agent of Asgard. He has upcoming covers on the series Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, Groot and The Devil’s Cut.

Lee Garbett and Si Spurrier Signature - $100
Si Spurrier is an award-nominated British comic book writer best known for his work on 2000 AD. He has also worked for Marvel and DC on titles like Star Wars: Doctor Aphra, Danny Ketch: Ghost Rider, X-Men Legacy, X-Force, The Dreaming and John Constantine: Hellblazer. Spurrier is currently the writer on the series Uncanny Spider-Man.

Si Spurrier and Lee Garbett Signature - $100
Javier Fernández is a comic book artist from Granada, Spain, known for his interior art and covers for DC Comics and also for being the main artist of King Spawn. Some of his most notable work includes series like Detective Comics, Nightwing, Green Arrow and Justice league Dark. Fernández has upcoming covers on the series The Magic Order, Knight Terrors: Titans and King Spawn.

Christian Ward is a multi-Eisner winning comic book artist and writer. He is perhaps best known for his cosmic space operas Invisible Kingdom co-created with G. Willow Wilson and ODY-C co-created with Matt Fraction. Recently, he worked with actor Oscar Isaac on Headwounds and was the artist on the acclaimed DC Black Label series Aquaman: Andromeda. He is the writer/co-creator of the hit series Blood Stained Teeth and was also the artist on the acclaimed Marvel Comics series Black Bolt. Ward is a prolific cover artist, providing captivating covers for DC Comics, BOOM, Image Comics and others as well as working for clients outside of comics such as Epic Games and Spectrevision. Ward has upcoming covers on the series Tales of the Titans, Knight Terrors: Titans and Batman Beyond: Neo-Gothic.

Federico Vicentini is an Italian comic book artist. Nominated among the Marvel Stormbreakers class of 2023, he has worked on Absolute Carnage: Miles Morales, Amazing Spider-Man, Falcon & Winter Soldier, Heroes Reborn- Blur, Wolverine, X Deaths of Wolverine. He is currently working on the relaunch of Miles Morales
Signature - $75, Remarque - $145 (Limited to the first 10 submitters)
Belén Ortega is a comic book artist and illustrator from Granada, Spain. She works as a cover and interior artist for Marvel Comics, DC Comics, Heavy Metal and Dupuis as well as being an illustrator for video game companies such as Riot Games and Fortnite. Some of her most notable work includes series like Captain Marvel, Joker, Batman and Sensational Wonder Woman. Some upcoming series featuring Ortega’s covers are The Penguin and Batman: The Brave and the Bold for.

John Giang is a comic book artist best known for his vibrant covers for publishers like DC, BOOM! Studios, Image, and IDW Publishing. Some of his most notable work includes series such as Batman, Batman/Catwoman, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, Something is Killing the Children, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Transformers. Giang has upcoming covers on the series Knight Terrors: Superman, Spider-Man: India and Green Lantern: War Journal.
Signature - $80, Remarque - $120
*Submitters may request the desired Remarque. Important: The final design and subject matter of the Remarque is at the artist’s discretion. CGC cannot guarantee Remarque requests.
For this exclusive event, ALL CGC members, including free CGC members, can submit books directly to CGC headquarters in Sarasota, Florida. CGC must receive all submissions for this event by Friday, September 22, 2023.
If the In-House Private Signing needs to be rescheduled, CGC will securely store all submissions in its vault until the event can be rescheduled.
After the creator(s) signs the submitted books, CGC will grade and encapsulate them with an estimated turnaround time of six weeks. If CGC pressing is also requested, the turnaround time is estimated at eight weeks. After grading and encapsulation, the collectibles will be shipped back to their owners.
Submission Instructions
For this CGC Private Signing event, you can ship submissions directly to CGC with a FREE membership. Paid memberships are also available and include additional benefits. For more information and to join, visit CGCcomics.com/join.
To submit books for the signing:
- Log onto your account or sign up for an account HERE.
- Click Submit in the CGC website navigation and select Submission Forms.
- Next to Comics / Magazines, select Online Form.
- Select Comic or Magazine from the drop-down menu, then select the artist.
- Under Services, select Grading and, if you would like it, Pressing. Then hit Next in the top right section of the form.
- Enter the information requested for your comic, and make sure to check the box next to the artist under Private Signing Details.
- On the next screen, you can add one of CGC’s custom Marvel labels to your submission for qualifying books.
- Select Add to Cart, and then repeat if there are additional books in your submission. If there are no additional books in your submission, click on the cart icon and proceed to checkout.
- Note: If you want to submit magazines, please group them together on their own private signing form separate from comic submissions. The same rule applies for any custom labels. - Put ALL ungraded books in window bags or they will not be accepted. You can purchase window bags HERE.
- Books that are already certified by CGC, including CGC Signature Series books, can be submitted for this event. CGC will remove a CGC-certified book from its holder for an additional $5 fee.
- Carefully package books in a box for shipment. If you need a CGC shipping kit, they can be purchased HERE.
- IMPORTANT: Please write the artists’ initials on all sides of the outside of the box. You must initial outside of the box or we will not be able to honor the submission for this signing.
- Books will be received into the CGC system when they arrive and will be safely stored by CGC until the event. (Please note: Payments are processed as they normally are at the time of the collectibles’ arrival at CGC.)
- Once books are signed, they will start an expedited CGC grading process.
PLEASE NOTE:
All submissions must be received by CGC no later than Friday, September 22, 2023, to qualify for this private signing event. No change requests will be accepted after Friday, September 22, 2023.
*No Multi-Sigs included with other signings.
**If you submit a CGC-graded collectible that needs to be removed from its original holder by CGC, the collectible will need to go through the certification and encapsulation process again, and there is no guarantee that it will receive the same grade.
***Marker color requests are welcome, but not guaranteed. Marker color choice and signature placement is at the final discretion of the signer.
