CGC Signature Series is thrilled to team up with Comic Sketch Art to announce that we will be hosting Marc Silvestri, Andy Kubert, Jock, Jody Houser, Kyle Higgins, Jackson Lanzing, Collin Kelly, Marc Guggenheim, Jeremy Adams, Tim Sheridan, Zeb Wells, Tini Howard and Nick Spencer for an exclusive In-House Private Signing event! In addition to signing, these creators will be offering Inscription, Remarque and Sketch options for purchase. See pricing and details below. 

Marc Silvestri

Marc Silvestri helped redefine the X-Men alongside Chris Claremont in the 1980s, before moving to Wolverine, Witchblade and The Darkness. As a founding partner of Image Comics and Top Cow, he has paved the way for creators and established himself as a legend in the industry.

Andy Kubert

Andy Kubert is an icon in the industry working as an artist, letterer and writer. He has worked for years at DC and Marvel on premier titles like X-Men, Ghost Rider and Batman

Jackson Lanzing and Collin Kelly

Jackson Lanzing and Collin Kelly known colloquially as “The Hivemind” are screenwriters and New York Times Bestselling comic book creators, known for Joyride (Boom! Studios), Star Trek: Year Five (IDW), Captain America: Sentinel of Liberty (Marvel), Batman Beyond: Neo-Year (DC Comics), Wifwulf (Vault), and Alyssa Milano's Hacktivist (Archaia). Their most recent graphic novel, Dark One, debuted at #1 on the Amazon Fantasy Graphic Novel list and #5 on the Barnes & Noble Bestseller / Top 100 list.

Marc Guggenheim

Marc Guggenheim is an Emmy Award-winning writer who works in multiple mediums. He has written titles for Marvel (Star Wars, X-Men, Spider-Man), DC (The Flash, Justice Society of America, Batman), Image (Halcyon, Torrent, Too Dead To Die), Dark Horse (Last Flight Out, Fragmentation), and Oni (Resurrection, Stringers).

Jeremy Adams

Jeremy Adams has written many popular animated films like Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion’s Revenge, Batman: Soul of the Dragon, Batman and Superman: Battle of the Supersons, and Mortal Kombat Legends: Cage Match. He has also written a 30 plus run on The Flash for DC Comics and is currently the writer on their ongoing Green Lantern series. Soon, Adams will be taking the reins on Mad Cave’s relaunch of Flash Gordon.

Tim Sheridan

Tim Sheridan writes for comics, television and film! He has written several DC animated films and has also written for tv shows like WB's Justice League Action, Teen Titans Go! and DC Super Hero Girls as well as Netflix’s Transformers: War For Cybertron, Dragon Age: Absolution, Masters of the Universe: Revelation (for which he also penned the Dark Horse tie-in comics) plus its sequel series Masters of the Universe: Revolution and more. At DC Comics, Tim is the co-creator of Alan Scott: The Green Lantern, Flashpoint Beyond, Teen Titans Academy, Shazam: To Hell and Back, Future State: Shazam and Future State: Teen Titans.

Zeb Wells

Zeb Wells has written for Marvel Comics for over twenty years, most recently on Hellions and the relaunch of The Amazing Spider-Man. He's also worked extensively in television, earning both Emmy and Annie Awards for his work on the series, Robot Chicken. While at Marvel, Wells has written many series including Spider-Man's Tangled Web, Peter Parker: Spider-Man, Carnage, New Mutants and Ant-Man. Most recently he's written on the upcoming She-Hulk and Marvel Zombies for Marvel Studios/Disney+.

Tini Howard

Tini Howard is a comic writer best known for her work on series like Catwoman for DC Comics and Excalibur for Marvel Comics. She is currently the writer on DC's Harley Quinn and has a personal comic project titled, PHENOMENOCITY which is a sci-fi neo-noir comic free to read at tinihoward.substack.com.

Nick Spencer

Nick Spencer is a comic book writer best known for his work for Marvel and Image Comics. He has written series like The Amazing Spider-Man, Captain America: Steve Rogers, Secret Avengers, Secret Empire, The Astonishing Ant-Man and Morning Glories. Spencer has also written series for other publishers such as DC and Archie Comics.

  • Nick Spencer Signature fee: $75

Each artist’s Signature fee includes the following:

  • Artist’s signature 
  • PLEASE NOTE: Requesting specific signature ink color is not guaranteed and it lies completely within the signer's discretion
  • Expedited turnaround time of six weeks for CGC grading
  • Expedited turnaround time of eight weeks for CGC grading and CGC pressing (an additional $20 fee applies for CGC pressing)
  • Encapsulation with CGC’s iconic yellow Signature Series label

Each artist’s Inscription fee includes the following:

  • Artist’s inscription 
  • PLEASE NOTE: Requesting specific signature ink color is not guaranteed and it lies completely within the signer's discretion

  • Illustrated Remarque (submitter can request image drawn but artist's reserve the right to choose a different character)

  • Expedited turnaround time of eight weeks for CGC grading and CGC pressing (an additional $20 fee applies for CGC pressing)
  • Encapsulation with CGC’s iconic yellow Signature Series label
  • If it is noted next to the fee price that there are limited Remarques available, Remarques are offered on a first-come-first-serve basis; when the option is gone, all spots have been taken.

Each artist’s Sketch fee includes:

  • Illustrated Sketch. Important: The final design and subject matter of the Sketch is at the artist’s discretion. CGC cannot guarantee Sketch requests. Submissions must be a blank Sketch cover. 
  • Artist’s signature
  • Estimated turnaround time of six weeks for CGC grading
  • Estimated turnaround time of eight weeks for CGC grading and CGC pressing (an additional $20 fee applies for CGC pressing)
  • Encapsulation with the iconic yellow CGC Signature Series label
  • If it is noted next to the fee price that there are limited Sketches available, Sketches are offered on a first-come-first-serve basis; when the option is gone, all spots have been taken.

For this exclusive event, ALL CGC members, including free CGC members, can submit books directly to CGC headquarters in Sarasota, Florida. CGC must receive all submissions for this event by Friday, June 21, 2024. 

If the In-House Private Signing needs to be rescheduled, CGC will securely store all submissions in its vault until the event can be rescheduled. 

After they sign the submitted books, CGC will grade and encapsulate them with an estimated turnaround time of six weeks. If CGC pressing is also requested, the turnaround time is estimated at eight weeks. After grading and encapsulation, the collectibles will be shipped back to their owners.

Submission Instructions 

For this CGC Private Signing event, you can ship submissions directly to CGC with a FREE membership. Paid memberships are also available and include additional benefits. For more information and to join, visit CGCcomics.com/join

To submit books for the signing: 

  • Log onto your account or sign up for an account HERE.
  • Click Submit in the CGC website navigation and select Submission Forms.
  • Next to Comics / Magazines, select Online Form.
  • Select Comic or Magazine from the drop-down menu, then select Private Signing and one of the following from the dropdown menu section:
    [ARTIST’S NAME],SIGNATURE (i.e. MARC SILVESTRI, SIGNATURE); [ARTIST’S NAME], INSCRIPTION (i.e. MARC SILVESTRI, INSCRIPTION); [ARTIST’S NAME], REMARQUE (i.e. MARC SILVESTRI, REMARQUE); [ ARTISTS NAME], SKETCH TYPE (i.e. MARC SILVESTRI, HEAD SKETCH).
  • Under Services, select Grading and, if you would like it, Pressing. Then hit Next in the top right section of the form.
  • Enter the information requested for your comic, and make sure to check the box next to [ARTIST’S NAME] under Private Signing Details.
  • On the next screen, you can add one of CGC’s custom Marvel labels to your submission for qualifying books.
  • Select Add to Cart, and then repeat if there are additional books in your submission. If there are no additional books in your submission, click on the cart icon and proceed to checkout.
  • Note: If you want to submit magazines, please group them together on their own private signing form separate from comic submissions. The same rule applies for any custom labels.   • Put ALL ungraded books in window bags or they will not be accepted. You can purchase window bags HERE.
  • Books that are already certified by CGC, including CGC Signature Series books, can be submitted for this event. CGC will remove a CGC-certified book from its holder for an additional $5 fee.
  • Carefully package books in a box for shipment. If you need a CGC shipping kit, they can be purchased HERE.
  • IMPORTANT:Please write [ARTIST’S INITIALS] on all sides of the outside of the box (i.e. for Marc Silvestri you would write MS on the outside of your shipping box). You must initial outside of the box or we will not be able to honor the submission for this signing. 
  • Books will be received into the CGC system when they arrive and will be safely stored by CGC until the event. (Please note: Payments are processed as they normally are at the time of the collectibles’ arrival at CGC.)
  • Once books are signed, they will start an expedited CGC grading process. 

PLEASE NOTE:

All submissions must be received by CGC no later than Friday, June 21, 2024, to qualify for this private signing event. No change requests will be accepted after Friday, June 21, 2024.

*Cannot be combined with other CGC Private Signing events.

**If you submit a CGC-graded collectible that needs to be removed from its original holder by CGC, the collectible will need to go through the certification and encapsulation process again, and there is no guarantee that it will receive the same grade.

****Marker color requests are welcome, but not guaranteed. Marker color choice and signature placement is at the final discretion of the signer.
