CGC Accepting Submissions at San Diego Comic Con!

Certified Guaranty Company® (CGC®) is excited to be accepting submissions of comic books, cards, video games and home video collectibles at San Diego Comic Con, being held at the San Diego Convention Center in San Diego, California, on July 25-28, 2024. CGC x JSA Authentic Autograph certification will also be available at the show, at booth #4315!

San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) is one of the largest and most popular comic conventions in the world. SDCC began in 1970 as the "Golden State Comic Book Convention" and has since evolved into a massive pop culture extravaganza. SDCC has a significant impact on the entertainment industry, as it serves as a platform for major announcements, trailers, and exclusive content. Some of the special guests this year include Joe Jusko, Rob Liefeld, Mariko Tamaki, Christopher Paolini and Thien Pham.

For comic professionals and enthusiasts attending the 2024 San Diego Comic-Con, there is no better way to kick off the festivities than the annual Comic Book Legal Defense Fund (CBLDF) Welcome Party. CGC Comics proudly joins as a co-sponsor of this year’s highly anticipated event, which is set to take place on Thursday, July 25, from 8 p.m. until midnight at the prestigious Westgate Hotel. Don your favorite cosplay, gather your fellow comic book aficionados, and join us for a night of nostalgia, advocacy and celebration.

Fans also won't want to miss lots of fun happening at CGC booth #901 all weekend long! Fans can look forward to our beloved pin giveaway, our Batman and Wolverine anniversary submission pins, the Golden Egg Hunt, Meet the Grader and a special grand prize Deadpool-themed giveaway. We will also be hosting a panel — "Comic Book Grading 101 with CGC Comics" — featuring CGC Comics President Matt Nelson and CGC Comics Vice-President Shawn Caffrey, on Saturday, July 27, from 4:30-5:20 p.m. in Room 26. Looking to get books signed?

CGC Signature Series will have a dedicated booth at SDCC! Stop by booth #4315 for all your signature and witness needs. Be sure to get your books prepped with the updated CGC Signature Series online submission form to save you a lot of time at the show! Watch this short video to learn how to get this process started:

Preparing submissions for the show

To spend more time enjoying the show, submit your prepared collectibles through the Express Drop-off (EDO) service, which enables you to skip the line and quickly hand off your prepared submission to a CGC representative.

Please take the following steps before arriving:

1. Create a CGC account here. All it takes is a free account to submit, and paid members get additional discounts and benefits.
2. Go to the online submission form for comics, cards, video games or home video.
3. Select “Mail-In or Show Drop-Off” to start your submission.
4. Complete the submission form and print the packing slips.

Important: To ensure that your submission process stays on schedule, please place your collectibles in the order listed on the packing slip. Please bring BOTH copies of the packing slip with your collectibles to the show drop-off. Failure to do so will result in delays.

5. Keep your collectibles safe and secure until you drop off your submission (including the packing slip) with a representative.
6. Go to the Express Drop-off sign to finalize your submission.

All submissions will be transported to CGC’s headquarters in Sarasota, Florida, for authentication, grading and encapsulation.
