CGC and JSA Accepting Submissions at the Spooky Empire Convention

Posted on 10/23/2024

Submit your comic books, cards, video games, home video collectibles and memorabilia at the November 1-3 show!

CGC® and JSA® are excited to be accepting submissions of comics, cards, video games, home video collectibles and memorabilia at the Spooky Empire convention, being held at the Hyatt Regency in Orlando, Florida, on November 1-3, 2024.

Spooky Empire is multi-genre convention, with a focus on horror and science fiction, which is held bi-annually in Florida. Held in the spring and fall since the event debuted in 2003, Spooky Empire is considered the "the dark side of Comic-Con." As one of the most popular pop culture conventions in the Southeast, fans and collectors can visit and shop at an assortment of vendor booths, take part in a film and tattoo festival, listen to celebrity guest speakers and take advantage of photo ops with many of your favorite horror and sci-fi stars!

In addition, CGC and JSA representatives will be accepting submissions, answering questions and providing information on collectibles certification and autograph authentication services. Bring your favorite collectibles to the convention to take advantage of fast turnaround times and save one way on shipping fees! Further instructions on the submission process are below.

Preparing submissions for the show

CGC is accepting submissions of sports cards, TCGs, non-sports cards, comic books, video games and home video collectibles for grading. Autographed cards and comics may be submitted for CGC x JSA Authentic Autograph certification, and autographed memorabilia may be submitted for JSA-only services. Please note that JSA is no longer accepting cash as payment for autograph services.

To spend more time enjoying the show, submit your prepared collectibles through the Express Drop-off Service, which enables you to skip the line and quickly hand off your prepared submission to a CGC representative.

Please take the following steps before arriving:

  1. Create a CGC account here. All it takes is a free account to submit, and paid members get additional discounts and benefits.
  2. Go to the online submission form for comics, cards, video games or home video.
  3. Select “Mail-In or Show Drop-Off” to start your submission. Please note that you have the option to choose JSA autograph authentication after choosing your primary grading services.
  4. Complete the submission form and print the packing slips.
  5. Important: To ensure that your submission process stays on schedule, please place your collectibles in the order listed on the packing slip. Please bring BOTH copies of the packing slip with your collectibles to the show drop-off. Failure to do so will result in delays.

  6. Keep your collectibles safe and secure until you drop off your submission (including the packing slip) with a representative.
  7. Go to the Express Drop-off sign to finalize your submission.

All submissions will be transported to CGC’s headquarters in Sarasota, Florida, for authentication, grading and encapsulation.
