CGC Comics Registry Featured Set: Amazing 1-25
Posted on 3/3/2025
The Silver Age is also sometimes called the Marvel Age because of the many classic comics and characters introduced by Marvel Comics during these years. A perfect example is found in the CGC Comics Registry Set Amazing 1-25 by jjbjheartman, featuring the first 25 issues of the iconic series that gave us so many of the classic characters we still love and follow today.
Beginning in 1963, the first 25 issues of The Amazing Spider-Man laid the foundation for one of the most iconic superheroes in comic history. Written by Stan Lee and illustrated by Steve Ditko, these early stories introduced Peter Parker’s struggles with power and responsibility while expanding his world with unforgettable characters.
Issue #1 featured a crossover with the Fantastic Four and the debut of J. Jonah Jameson, whose relentless smear campaign against Spider-Man became a defining conflict. Key villains also made their first appearances within the pages of these issues, as well as Peter’s first love interest Betty Brant and his Aunt May. For collectors, these early issues are among the most valuable in Silver Age comics, with even lower-grade copies prized due to their historical significance and the enduring popularity of Spider-Man. Beyond monetary worth, these issues are sought for their raw energy, creativity and the foundation they set for decades of storytelling.
