It’s Almost Time! Get Ready for the 2025 CGC Comics Registry Awards!

The CGC Comics Registry is a completely free platform where collectors showcase their best CGC-certified comics within Competitive and Custom Sets to compete for recognition and awesome prize packages. With more than 8,000 participants, 100,000 sets and 650,000 collectibles, this resource grows in popularity each year.

For 2025, CGC is awarding prizes valued at more than $18,000 to CGC Comics Registry Award winners!

Prizes will be awarded for the following major categories:

• Best Golden Age Sets (comics published starting with Action Comics #1 June 1938-1959)
• Best Silver Age Sets (comics published 1960-1969)
• Best Bronze Age Sets (comics published 1970-1979)
• Best Copper Age Sets (comics published 1980-1989)
• Best Modern Age Sets (comics published 1990-present)
• Best Presented Sets (sets with the best descriptive text and images)
• Best Magazine Sets
• Best Custom Sets
• Best Signature Series Sets
• Best International Comics Sets
• The John Verzyl Sr. Registry Masterpiece Award (based on a collector’s overall collection of Registry sets)

Overall quality, balance and completion will all be important considerations — in addition to a set’s score — when judging sets in Competitive categories. Private (Obscured) sets are not considered for awards.

The prizes

We’re continuing the tradition of awarding Signature Series books as part of each winner’s prize package! This year, winners will receive a CGC-certified Action Comics #1050 Dell'Otto variant signed by Gabriele Dell'Otto — featuring the iconic CGC Signature Series yellow label — valued at $200!

Returning this year are the CGC Comics Registry Best Set Winners Pennants! We’re excited to send out these fun, display-worthy pennants to the major award category winners of 2025!

Each major award category winner will also receive a $500 grading credit, a high-quality printed Awards Winner certificate and more surprises! Follow us on social media at @CGCcomics to keep up with all the latest!

To participate, enter your set online in the CGC Comics Registry by 5 p.m. ET on June 27, 2025. Winners will be announced on July 25, 2025.

CGC Chat Board Awards

In addition to the CGC Comics Registry Awards, CGC will recognize three outstanding contributors to the CGC Chat Boards. The CGC Chat Boards are a vibrant community where collectors can come together to share their passion for comic books. It is a resource created and maintained by you, the collector, and the CGC awards would not be complete without recognition of the top contributors. In determining the winners for the CGC Chat Board Awards, we will consider a forumite’s overall contribution of posts.
