When will the membership tier changes and new pricing go into effect?

All updates to CGC membership tiers, services and fees will go into effect on Wednesday, April 28, 2021.

What happened to the CGC Value tier?

CGC has eliminated the Value tier for all collectible types. However, the Economy tier is now a new lower price to support Value tier submitters.

What happens if my submission was sent in under the Value tier, but it has not been delivered to CGC by April 28?

If you submitted comics under the Value tier prior to April 28, 2021, you will receive the previous Value tier price of $27 (or $37 with Fast Track). CGC is giving all Value tier submissions 30 days to be delivered to our facility before they will be moved to the new Economy price.

I submitted my book(s) as Economy before April 28, 2021. Can I get the new lower price?

The price listed on your packing slip is the amount that you will be charged. So, if you have already submitted your collectibles under the old pricing, that is the pricing that you will receive.

Is Grade PreScreen still available?

Yes, Grade PreScreen — the option to have only books that reach a designated minimum grade encapsualted — is still available, with an $8 reject fee. The service can be applied to any grading tier and still has a 25-book minimum.

Is CCS QuickPress still available?

No, the QuickPress option is no longer available due to recent enhancements that have optimized the results of the CCS process and reduced the differences between QuickPress and regular pressing. If you selected QuickPress service prior to April 28, or already submitted a book for QuickPress, you will still receive that service.

What has changed with CGC CrossOver Grading?

CGC is no longer offering 50% off the grading tier fee for any CrossOver books submitted. All books submitted as CrossOver will be charged the full grading tier fee.

What has changed with the CCS Screening service for comics and magazines?

CCS Screening is no longer available for Modern tier comics and/or magazines. All other comic/magazine tiers can be submitted for CCS Screening with the fee still being 1% of the fair market value (FMV) with a new minimum fee of $15.

I noticed the CGC Signature Series fees have changed. Will this affect my recent submission for a CGC Private Signing?

No, these updates do not affect the CGC-hosted Private Signing events.

The membership tiers no longer have the same discounts. Will I still receive the discount I originally had?

To better streamline our operations, CGC has changed its membership discounts for all CGC members to align with the discounts that are given by our affiliates (NGC, PMG, CSG, etc.) However, if you currently have a membership tier that offers a discount, you will still receive that percentage off until your membership is due for renewal. For instance, if you purchased an Associate CGC Membership on January 1, 2021, you will still receive the 5% grading tier discount until your renewal date of January 1, 2022.
