CGC is excited to announce a special dual signing event with Andrew Kubert and Brian Azzarello! Best known for his work for Beware The Batman, Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox, and Wolverine: Origin, Kubert has been in the comic world since he was 12 years old, when he started as a letterer for DC Comics. Creativity runs in Kubert’s family of comic book creators: His father Joe Kubert is the founder of The Joe Kubert School of Cartoon and Graphic Art, and his brother Adam Kubert is a notable comic book artist.
Kubert later became a regular penciller on X-Men vol. 2 and has not slowed down since, as he continues to illustrate other covers such as Batman: Cacophony, Ultimate Iron Man, Blackest Night issues of Green Lantern, and much more. The talented illustrator and writer has continued to work on several Marvel and DC Comics’ issues including Action Comics, The Incredible Hulk, Ultimate X-Men, and Astonishing Spider-Man & Wolverine.
Comic book writer and screenwriter, Brian Azzarello is best known for his crime series, 100 Bullets, which was published by DC Comics’ and won the Eisner Award. His original graphic novel, Filthy Rich, was one of the two titles that launched the Vertigo Crime line. In addition, he designed the First Wave, a new fictional universe for DC Comics, and was announced as the co-writer of an eight-issue second sequel to The Dark Knight Returns. Azzarello has also written major titles such as Spaceman, Batman: Broken City, Superman: For Tomorrow and Joker to name a few.
“We are so thrilled to be hosting legendary creator, Andrew Kubert, and iconic comic book writer, Brian Azzarello, for this special dual signing!” exclaimed Brittany McManus, CGC’s Signature Series Director. “Kubert and Azzarello have worked on some of the biggest titles and have been influential figures in the comic industry for years.
