Two Rare CGC-graded Batman Comic Books Featured in ComicLink Auction

Detectives Comics #27 and Batman #1 introduced readers to Batman, the Joker and Catwoman.

Two rare comic books graded by Certified Guaranty Company® (CGC®) that feature the first appearances of Batman and two of his villainous rivals are among the top lots in an upcoming sale. Online bidding already is underway in ComicLink’s Winter Featured Auction, with sessions closing between March 1 and 7, 2022.

Bidding for each of the two historic CGC-graded Batman books already has reached more than $125,000. The top lot is a Detectives Comics #27 graded CGC 7.0 in Restored Grade. Published in 1939, the book features the first appearance of Batman.

Another rare comic book in the sale is a Batman #1 graded CGC 3.0. The issue builds on the Batman legend, recounting his origin story and introducing readers to two of his legendary adversaries, the Joker and Catwoman.
